SCIENCE DAY

"Fit for Life - Explore Science" on October 28th 2009
Under the motto "FIT FOR LIFE? - EXPLORE SCIENCE" universities, colleges and universities of applied sciences in Germany were invited to to bridge the gap between universities and schools.
Five Secondary schools in Delhi participated in five educational projects presented by five of the selected German universities. Among them was the DEUTSCHE SCHULE/GERMAN SCHOOL NEW DELHI together with the CARMEL CONVENT SCHOOL.

The objective of this initiative was to encourage young people with a scientific bent to develop a fascination for science and research.
As part of Indo-German research cooperation the project also wanted to help motivate students to find solutions jointly with the project supervisors to present-day global issues, such as climate change, energy security or overcoming diseases before their outbreak.
The projects also provided an opportunity to reflect on the impact of science on society and how scientific discoveries, inventions and new intellectual approaches influence and change our everyday lives.
