SEKUNDARSTUFE I - KLASSE 10
Inter-school Declamation contest to mark World Ozone Day, 16th September.

Since 1995, on 16 September each year, the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is celebrated. This date has been designated by the United Nations General Assembly to commemorate the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

This commemoration around the world offers an opportunity to focus attention and action at the global, regional and national levels on the protection of the ozone layer.

WWF-India uses this opportunity to create and raise awareness about the Ozone Layer. Raised awareness translates into actions that are positive in terms of being pro-conservation.

To mark this occasion, WWF-India organized an Inter-school Declamation Competition for students of classes 9 to 12 on 16th September 2009 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The duration of the declamation was limited to 5 minutes.

The topic for the declamation competition was
"Individual action can make a difference to the Ozone Layer Depletion".
Two students from grade 10 participated representing the German School.
